It's Monday! A fresh new week to make your own. In these last few weeks of summer savor the moments, dive in and indulge. I'll never tell you to miss out on any experiences. For me, it's a all about creating balance that will keep you feeling happy, healthy and whole. Be it with food, experiences, thoughts and actions.

This week choose activities, people and thoughts that energize you. Ain't no better refresh to help jumpstart your bodies natural detoxifying systems, energize your body, oxygenate your cells, boost immune system, stimulate your organs, make your skin glow/teeth white/eyes sparkle than a delicious green juice to start your week.

Lately I've been enjoying this tasty tart cleansing green juice recipe on an empty stomach later in the day instead of first thing in the morning - I'm mixin it up. I find that my body feels better and my energy levels are steadier later in the afternoon, so it works for me.

Remember, YOU MAKE THE RULES.

If you drink juice in the afternoon just make sure it's been a solid few hours since your last meal so you can enjoy your green juice on an empty stomach to maximize the health benefits. Pictured here from yesterday afternoon, and I have enough produce for 2 more batches (that's the beauty of homemade juices - affordable, super fresh and you really feel connected to the process).

You'll Need:

  • 1 lemon, peeled

  • 1 lime, peeled

  • 2-4" inch knob of peeled ginger (depending on how spicy you like it)

  • 1/2 large cucumber

  • 2 green apples

  • 5 celery stalks

  • 5 leaves lacinato kale

  • 5 leaves of green leaf kale

To Make:

Wash, peel and large chop all fruit and vegetables in preparation to juice. Run all ingredients through your juices. Serve immediately!

Tip: I love juice super cold so I'll add a few ice cubes or I'll freeze some green juice from my first batch to make "juice cubes" and add to my next few batches.

Enjoy + Happy Monday!
