Recipe: The Wendy's Frosty...Sorta Kinda

I love smoothies. What's not to love? Creamy, cold, packed with flavor and easy to make. Not to mention smoothies are a great opportunity to get a lot of nutrition bang for your buck.

In high school, my girl friends and I would always end our night running through the local Wendy's drive-thru for a Frosty. Not the healthiest habit, I admit, but the flavor totally brings me back to those fun and carefree nights.

In this recipe I will recreate the flavor of the Wendy's frosty but with none of the junk and ALL of the goodness.

Make this for breakfast or about an hour before a tough workout!

You need:

  • 1 packet Vanilla Perfectfit Protein powder

  • 1 tsp Maca powder

  • 1 TBSP PB2

  • 1 1/2 TBSP organic coco powder

  • 1 TBSP almond butter

  • Handful of Ice

  • 1/2 cup almond milk (see my recipe: homemade almond milk)

  • 1/2 cup filtered water

  • Shredded coconut + chia seed garnish

Tools:

  • Vitamix or High Speed Blender

  • Blender Bottle (like this)

To make:  Add ingredients to your blender in the order listed above. Ajust the water/almond milk depending on how thick you like your smoothie. Add ice for a thicker smoothie. BLEND thoroughly to combine. Enjoy'!

This smoothie is so satisfying, full of protein, chocolate-y nutty flavor, and makes a truly delicious meal on the go.
